Tacoma is a small business town and, as a mentor, you can help our business community be more successful – one business at a time. This is meaningful work that can make a big difference in the community
You can have a big impact with just two hours per month!
All we ask from our mentors is to be available to your assigned business for 2 hours per month. And you can do this in person or virtually – whatever works best for you! All we ask is that you research the company you’re mentoring and be prepared for your sessions. That said we DO NOT require any project or homework from you at all – just informed discussions that leverage your experience and expertise and provide needed insight to your company.
As far as timeframe, we do ask for some commitment – 3 months’ worth to be specific. We feel that it takes about that long to develop a meaningful relationship. Also, we ask for confidentiality between you and your matched business.
We love our members, but we also love mentors, too! Besides the positive feelings you get by giving back, we’ll give you a free Flexspace or Basic Virtual Office membership while you’re mentoring and feature your profile on our mentor recognition page. We also give you access to advertise on the partner page of our website and the ability to present either in person or online on a relevant topic.
Additionally, we contribute to our Donor Advised Fund for each month of mentoring you contribute. All proceeds go to Tacoma aligned non-profits
Do I Qualify And How Can I Sign Up?
We ask all of our mentors to have at least 10 years of business experience. In addition, we ask that they have either an area of expertise or a proven track record of success. You’ll know if you’d be a good mentor
